One of my favorite outfits to wear to school in the Fall is a blazer, booties, and a huge scarf. It’s so easy and comfortable for sitting on the rug with the kids all day, but the blazer still makes the look polished. This scarf is absolutely delicious in person, and it’s on sale for under $25!! I’m also in love with Carla Mancini bags, and I get them at a discount whenever they’re on HauteLook (they’re sold out now, but check back every now and then if you’re interested!) Hope you guys have a fabulous weekend!!

I looovvveeee a summer floral print. I actually don’t love a lot of prints because sometimes they can be too busy for me, but it’s really hard to go wrong with a bold floral. I especially love how this top has bits of black in it which will help take this piece right into Fall. I got this top off the Kora Rae website a few months ago, and I don’t see it on there anymore, but you’ll see this beautiful print on a few other pieces on their site if you love it like I do! I also had to share these slingbacks with you guys. I’m a huge Sam Edelman lover because they’re always super comfortable, stylish, and a great price point. These are no exception. They’re suede, so ordinarily I’d wait to wear these until September but I just had to share them with you so you can grab them before they sell out everywhere! Slingbacks are also so much more comfortable than pumps for me, so you can imagine how psyched I was to find these. I have a feeling I’ll be getting them in other colors sooner than later. And one last note – the bag I’m carrying here is actually called an “iPad clutch” – I don’t really care what it was originally made for but I took one look at that gold bow and I just couldn’t turn it down!
Hope you guys are having a fabulous first day of August (aka: The Beginning of the End for us teachers).
I don’t know why, but lately I’ve been really into putting together outfits around different styles of denim. Last week it was flared, this week, it’s boyfriend. I guess you could call these a modified version of boyfriend jeans, though, because I don’t do very well with downright sloppy. This pair has the right amount of slouch and rips without completely looking like I’m wearing men’s jeans. Anytime I wear really distressed jeans, I think it’s important to keep the rest of the look polished. A suede jacket, structured bag, and stiletto booties do the trick!
In the spirit of full disclosure, people looked at me like I was completely out of my mind when G and I shot this look. First – it’s absolutely freezing out. Second – we’re still trying to figure out my new camera and were up and down the street taking pics of each other for like a half hour, haha :)

I’m all for skinnies (though I think I told you guys in an earlier post that it took some time for me to warm up to them) but my favorite denim style has always been and probably will always be flared. There’s something so chic about the way they graze over shoes, just letting the tiniest bit of the toe peek out. For this outfit, I started with this awesome Tory Burch wool blazer (the round beaded “buttons” snap off – how genius is that?!) and kept everything else neutral – a silver sparkly scarf, a white blouse underneath, and of course, my favorite jeans! I’m also having a ton of fun experimenting with my new camera, so stay tuned…

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and while I’m not one who goes crazy over the holiday in general, I’m also never going to pass up an excuse to dress in theme. I don’t really feel the need to go head-to-toe pink and red hearts, but a pop here or there really does the trick. I think this outfit would be perfect for Valentine’s Day date night. I started with this fabulous skirt that I had been eyeing at Zara for months (it was on sale for like $15 when I went last week and I finally gave in), added a navy top & boots, and topped it off with this BaubleBar statement necklace & a red lip.

Incorporating texture into an outfit makes a look a whole lot more interesting. Usually, we add texture on top (think: a nubby sweater, suede or leather collar, chunky statement necklace…you get the idea). But sometimes, it’s nice to add texture on the bottom. Since textured bottoms tend to make a statement even more so than they do on top, you’ll want to keep the rest of the look pretty basic. For this look, I paired these quilted faux leather skinnies with a basic tee and neutral jacket. It gives an outfit that cool factor without looking like you have too much going on at once. I would wear this outfit for a night out, or if I switched out the booties for high flat boots and added a chunky scarf, I would easily wear this for daytime too!
