Thanks for visiting my blog! I’m so excited to share my fashion journey with you. I started my Instagram a few years ago with the encouragement of some of my best teacher friends, and it’s turning out to be one of the most fun things I’ve ever done. I really have never been the most social-media savvy (ok, so I’m insanely good at Facebook “stalking,” but that’s it, I swear) so I was seriously surprised at the amazing community of teachers out there ready to share classroom ideas, fabulous outfits, and SO much more! I always tell my students to “steal” great ideas from one another (is that bad?) and I just want to formally announce that I myself am stealing great ideas from all of you, so THANKS!
Here’s a little bit about me: I taught 3rd and 4th grade in NYC for 7 years, but this year I’m going to be teaching intervention part time since I just had a baby. When I was little, I always said I wanted to be a teacher, do something in fashion, or be a “nail polisher,” so when I decided to become a teacher my plan was to be as fashionable a teacher as I could be (with gorgeous nails). I definitely get my fashion sense from my mom [#igotitfrommymama] who is the true epitome of chic. Growing up, she dressed my brother and me in the most classic (and of course, matching) outfits – think giant bows and newsboy caps. I didn’t realize her fashion sense, as well as her flair for organization, had made such an indelible mark on me until I was on my own recreating it myself in my home, my classroom, and my closet. Some call my fashionable, organized life OCD, others say I’m Type A… I prefer to call it: teacherchic.
